Top 5 Travel Destination for 2015
Travel season is just around the corner. Those with severe wanderlust may have already jetted off to some far away destination or two. If you are still trying to decide where to travel to in 2015, the world is your oyster. With Euro at an all time low and the British Pound in steady decline as well, Europe seems to be at the top of everyone’s list for travel in 2015.
Umbria
It’s time to get out of the Florence-Venice-Rome rut and explore the rest of the peninsula. Umbria offers travelers a unique and memorable experience in Italy, without the crowds. The rolling landscape and hill-top towns of Umbria leave travelers wishing they had visited sooner. You will discover local seasonal cuisine prepared with fresh ingredients by people who care. Stay the night in Assisi and wait for the day-trippers to leave. That’s when the historic midlevel town comes alive. Towns like Perugia, Spoleto and Orvieto can easily be reached by car.
Croatia
Imagine a place with rich culture, amazing food, loads of history and with more islands and beaches than you can count. Greece or Italy? Not quite! Croatia is not on the typical tourist trail but certainly deserves its moment in the sun. The region of Istria in the North, is like Italy without the crowds. Amazing fresh pastas, seafood, olive oil and truffles reign supreme in the local cuisine. Many hill towns and seaside village retain their architectural grandeur dating back to the Venetian empire. Don’t forget all of the Roman ruins and World Heritage sites. The sunny south is an endless selection of islands, lavender fields, beach clubs and a relaxed atmosphere.
London
There is always something happening or something to see in London. It is truly one of the world’s greatest metropolitan cities. It is said that if you stand in Piccadilly Circus long enough, you are bound to see someone you know. Since the British Pound is in decline, now is the time to head to the capital of the former British Empire. Many sights in London are actually free to the public. Cuba
More and more Americans are traveling to Cuba every year. Now with the reformed travel regulations making it even more easy for Americans to travel to Cuba, this seems to be the top on everyones list. Cuba, due to the trade embargo, is a country that is stuck in time. While American credit cards are still not accepted on the island, that should not stop you. There is plenty of culture, music, dance, beaches and amazing food to keep your interest. Get there before there is a Starbucks or McDonalds in downtown Havana.
Brasil
This is probably one of the most diverse countries on the planet. Choose between rainforests, colonial towns, world class beaches or have it all! The weak Brasilian Real means more samba lessons and caiparinhas all around. It’s a big country to cover all of it in one trip but there are plenty of budget flights that make that possibility much easier.
